On 18 March, the 6th Asian Beach Games Sanya 2026 (Sanya 2026) Team Draw Ceremony was held in Sanya. Official drawings were finalised for three team sports: Beach Soccer, Beach Handball, and Beach Kabaddi.

In accordance with the regulations of the relevant Asian and international sports federations, the draws were held for the Men’s Beach Soccer, Men’s Beach Handball, Women’s Beach Handball, Men’s Beach Kabaddi, and Women’s Beach Kabaddi.

Teams were divided into Groups A and B, determining their group assignments and the match sequence.

The Men’s Beach Soccer will include seven teams. According to the draw, the host nation, China, was assigned to Group A, alongside Oman and Palestine.

Group B includes Iran, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, and the United Arab Emirates.

The Men’s Beach Handball will feature 15 teams. China is placed in Group A along with Iran, the Philippines, Hong Kong, China, India, Sri Lanka, and Bahrain.

Group B includes Oman, Pakistan, Jordan, the Maldives, Bangladesh, Thailand, Qatar, and Mongolia.

The Women’s Beach Handball will feature nine teams divided into two groups: Group A includes Vietnam, the Philippines, Hong Kong, China, and Thailand, while Group B includes China, India, Turkmenistan, Sri Lanka, and Mongolia.

The Men’s Beach Kabaddi will feature eight teams, while the Women’s Beach Kabaddi will feature seven teams. After the draw, the top seeds, Pakistan and India, were assigned to Groups A and B in the men’s event, with the other teams distributed using a serpentine draft.

The remaining teams in Group A are Iran, Bangladesh and Syria, while those in Group B are Chinese Taipei, Thailand, and Sri Lanka.

For the women’s event, Group A consists of India, Sri Lanka, and Syria, while Group B includes Thailand, Bangladesh, Chinese Taipei, and Nepal.

The 6th Asian Beach Games Sanya 2026 Organising Committee (SABGOC) conducted the draw with a strict commitment to fairness, impartiality, and transparency. A standardised and transparent online system for the draw was used, with strict controls on technical support, procedural oversight, and result publication. The process was fully traceable, open to oversight, and transparent, ensuring all teams were assigned to groups fairly and equally. This established a solid foundation for the upcoming competitions.

Sanya 2026 is scheduled from 22 to 30 April 30, 2026, and will feature 14 sports across 15 disciplines. These include Aquatics (Open Water Swimming and Water Polo), 3×3 Basketball, Beach Athletics, Beach Wrestling, Dragon Boat, Beach Soccer, Beach Handball, Beach Kabaddi, Jiu Jitsu, Sailing, Sport Climbing, Teqball, Triathlon (Aquathlon), and Beach Volleyball.
