On the evening of March 8, the 2026 China Teqball Invitational (Sanya Leg) and the 6th Asian Beach Games Sanya 2026 (the Games) Teqball Test Event concluded successfully at the Sanya Bay Yuhai Club Venue Cluster.

After a day of fierce competition, the final results were announced. Sun Zhixu and Zhang Junming secured the Men’s Doubles title, with Chen Xudong and Zhao Feifan finishing second, and Teng Kaidi and Zhao Haotian taking third.

In Women’s Doubles, Wang Chengguo and Wang Xitong won the championship, Gao Xixi and Li Qiuyu finished second, and Dong Baohan and Wang Jingjing secured third place.

In the Mixed Doubles, Luo Jiayi and Sun Zhixu earned the gold medal, Chen Xudong and Wang Xitong took silver, and Teng Kaidi, along with Wang Chengguo, received the bronze.

Athlete Zhang Junming said that he and his teammates are currently training for the upcoming official Games. He also noted that taking part in the test event helped them get acquainted with the venue and competition setting beforehand.

He mentioned that the climate, sand quality, and services in Sanya were excellent, and the venue facilities left a strong impression on the participants. This experience has increased his excitement for the upcoming Games.

Under the bright sunshine, the blue sea, clear skies of Sanya Bay, and fine sandy beaches all added a distinct charm to this growing sport of teqball.

The competition included three events: Men’s Doubles, Women’s Doubles, and Mixed Doubles. Matches were played in a round-robin format within groups to establish the final standings.

The Sanya Bay Yuhai Club Venue Cluster, where the test event took place, spans a total of 8,183 square metres and offers 6,900 spectator seats.

Chen Fei, the Deputy Director of Venue Operations and Secretary-General of the venue cluster, stated that the complex consists of three competition venues and will host four sports during the Games: Beach Wrestling, Ju-Jitsu, Teqball, and Beach Soccer.

He noted that the venue's infrastructure, main facilities, and supporting service areas are mostly constructed. For the teqball test event, 313 staff were deployed, and the entire operation ran efficiently, smoothly, and in an organised manner, meeting the testing objectives.

The smooth operation of the competition was also supported by the dedicated efforts of volunteers working behind the scenes. Liang Yuanmei, Head of Venue Volunteer Management, said that 156 volunteers from the University of Sanya had been recruited to support the test event and the upcoming Games.

Volunteer position assignments were completed during the initial preparation phase. Before the venue officially opened on March 6, specialised training sessions were conducted, followed by on-site practical training guided by functional area supervisors, strictly adhering to the principle of “training before deployment”.

During the three days of service, the volunteer team performed well. Liang Yuanmei noted that volunteers arrived on time, showed solid professional skills, and supported various operational areas effectively.

A flexible support system was also set up to bring in extra personnel when necessary, guaranteeing ongoing high-quality volunteer services and strong support for stable venue management.

The successful execution of the teqball test event not only gave domestic athletes the crucial competition experience but also thoroughly evaluated the Games' venue facilities, event organisation, volunteer support, and overall operational readiness.

It also provided an important opportunity to pinpoint areas for improvement, gather operational experience, and further strengthen the foundations for the smooth organisation of all competitions during the Games.
