SANYA, April 30 (Xinhua) -- Women's speed climber Zhou Yafei will serve as the flag bearer of the Chinese delegation at the closing ceremony of the 6th Asian Beach Games in Sanya.

China swept the podium in the women's speed climbing event at the Games, with Zhou taking gold. She also claimed bronze in the women's relay alongside teammate Deng Lijuan.

"It is a great honor for me to be appointed flag bearer. More than that, I feel a strong sense of pride and responsibility," Zhou said. "This honor is not only recognition of my personal performance, but also a tribute to the entire Chinese climbing team and the fighting spirit of young Chinese athletes."

The 6th Asian Beach Games will conclude in Sanya on Thursday evening.
