Swim–Run Test Event for Sanya 2026 Concludes Successfully

On March 8, the 6th Asian Beach Games Sanya 2026 (the Games) Swim–Run Test Event was held at the Sanya Bay Photography Base Venue.

The course spanned 3.5 kilometres and featured three competition events: Men’s Individual, Women’s Individual, and Mixed Relay. Over 50 athletes from eight teams nationwide participated.

In the morning events for Men’s and Women’s Individuals, athletes from the national team secured the top spots.

In the Men’s Individual, Teng Yunfeng took gold, Luo Yunkang won silver, and Chen Rongheng received bronze. In the Women’s Individual competition, Lu Meiyi claimed gold, Mai Kaiye secured silver, and Dong Jirong earned bronze.

In the afternoon Mixed Relay, Li Lingna, Chen Rongheng, Lu Meiyi, and Teng Yunfeng of the national team won the gold medal. The silver medal went to Mai Kaiye, Wang Shuncang, Dong Jirong, and Li Yansong, also of the national team. The bronze was claimed by Niu Yishang, An Junshuo, Li Jiayi, and Zhang Kaixin of the Hebei provincial team.

After the race, national team athlete Teng Yunfeng commented that it was his first time competing in Sanya and that he was impressed by the lively atmosphere and the venue conditions.

He noted that the service support was well coordinated, the seawater was clean, and the course layout and movement routes were thoughtfully designed. After experiencing the course firsthand, he expressed increased excitement for the upcoming Games and hopes to stay in good form and secure excellent results in the official competitions.

National team athlete Lu Meiyi, who secured gold in the Women’s Individual and Mixed Relay events, stated that the venue conditions were excellent and that weather conditions were highly favorable for the competition.

She stated that the primary goal of participating in the test event was to familiarize herself with the venue, adjust to the environment and water temperature, and that her overall experience of the competition was very positive.
