On December 2, representatives from the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) and the National Olympic Committees (NOCs) of Asian countries and regions attending the Chefs de Mission Meeting of the 6th Asian Beach Games (ABG) Sanya 2026 conducted on-site inspections of both competition and non-competition venues.

The delegation’s first stop was the Ring Theater at the Asian Beach Games Park in Tianya Haijiao, the designated venue for the opening and closing ceremonies of the Sanya 2026 Games, scheduled for April 22 and April 30, 2026. Representatives received a briefing on the overall venue layout and the creative concepts behind the ceremonies.

The opening and closing ceremonies of the Games will be presented under the theme “Celebration at Tianya,” offering a vivid narrative of the Hainan Free Trade Port’s spirit of openness while showcasing a diverse, confident, and perseverant image of contemporary China to the world.

At the Tianya Haijiao venue cluster, representatives toured the beach volleyball, sport climbing, and beach handball venues, receiving detailed updates on venue planning and construction progress. During the inspection, they stepped onto the beach volleyball courts to assess sand quality and examined lighting systems, functional rooms, and other operational facilities. Delegates expressed strong approval of the venue readiness, praising the high-standard competition environment and facilities.

The Athletes’ Village, one of the core operational hubs of the Games, is located at the Mangrove Tree Resort World Sanya Bay. In the lobby of the King Palm Tower Hotel, representatives were briefed on the Village’s overall planning and service facilities. They then proceeded to the Village Operations Center, where display panels illustrated the functional layout in detail. Delegates also visited key areas, including the Doping Control Station, OCA Office, Competition Information Center, NOC Services Center, Resident Services Center, General Clinic, Flag Plaza, Visitor Center, Athletes’ Dining Hall, and Shuttle Bus Station.

A dedicated exhibition section showcased Village maps, ground and second-floor layouts, and AR renderings of key functional zones, offering a clear and intuitive spatial overview. Representatives stopped to study the layouts attentively, asking questions about specific details, and expressed strong recognition of the planning and preparatory progress.

Following this comprehensive venue tour, OCA and NOC representatives commended the Sanya Asian Beach Games’ preparation work. All preparations are currently progressing steadily and in accordance with established timelines and objectives. Sanya looks forward to welcoming athletes, coaches, and guests from 45 Asian countries and regions in April 2026, and to delivering an exciting and memorable Games in this beautiful coastal city.
