On January 18, the 2026 City Sailing and Windsurfing Invitational Tournament, Sanya Bay, China, and the 6th Asian Beach Games Sanya 2026 Sailing Test Event (Sailing Test Event) were officially held at Haihong Square on Sanya Bay Road and the adjacent waters. A total of 11 teams and 77 athletes from across China took part in the competition, marking the start of a key operational rehearsal for the 6th Asian Beach Games Sanya 2026 (Sanya 2026).

The Sailing Test Event, an essential preparatory step for the Sanya 2026, was organised in strict accordance with Games-time standards. It aimed to comprehensively test critical aspects of the event, including competition organisation, venue operations, and service and support systems.

The event features four classes across two sailing disciplines: men’s and women’s ILCA4, as well as Optimist (OP) classes.
