On 25 March, the overall competition schedule for the 6th Asian Beach Games Sanya 2026 (Sanya 2026) was officially released.
The Games are scheduled from 22 to 30 April 2026, encompassing 14 sports, 15 disciplines, and 62 events, with 62 gold medals to be awarded. Key sports expected to generate medals include Beach Athletics, Beach Wrestling, Sailing, Dragon Boat, and Jiu Jitsu.

According to the published schedule, competitions will be staged across several coastal venue clusters.
At the Tianya Haijiao Venue Cluster (TNH), Beach Handball will begin one day ahead of the official opening on 21 April and conclude on 30 April, with two gold medals awarded. Beach Volleyball will commence on 23 April and run for seven days, with finals set for 29 April. Sport Climbing will be held on 28 and 29 April, with four gold medals to be decided.
The Sanya Bay Haiyue Square Venue Cluster (HYS) will host various water-based and other featured sports. Open Water Swimming is scheduled from 25 to 27 April, with gold medals awarded daily. Water Polo will take place over eight days, with finals on 24 and 29 April. Beach Kabaddi begins on 23 April, with finals set for 27 April.
The Sanya Bay Yuhai Club Venue Cluster (YHC) will host four events. Beach Soccer starts on 23 April, with the final on 29 April. Jiu Jitsu is scheduled for 23 and 24 April, awarding three gold medals each day. Teqball will be held from 24 to 27 April, culminating in three gold medals on the last day. Beach Wrestling begins on 28 April, with eight medals to be awarded on 29 April.
Other venues include the Sanya River Venue (SYR), which will host Dragon Boat Racing from 24 to 26 April and award six gold medals. The Sanya Sports Centre Gymnasium Venue (SSG) will hold the 3x3 Basketball on 25 April, with winners announced by 29 April. Sailing at Haihong Square Venue (HHS) starts on 23 April, with eight gold medals to be awarded on 28 April. Beach Athletics will be held at Phoenix Island Venue (PNX) from 24 to 26 April, featuring ten gold medals. Additionally, the Photography Base Venue (PGB) will host Aquathlon on 23 and 25 April.
Gold medals will be distributed in several peak periods during the Games, with approximately 60% expected to be awarded on 24, 28, and 29 April.
On 29 April, a total of 16 gold medals will be awarded across events such as Water Polo, 3x3 Basketball, Beach Soccer, Sport Climbing, Beach Volleyball, and Beach Wrestling, marking the climax of competition and spectator engagement during the Games.
